Where to find turkeys in howling fjord

He casted an AOE on me which killed my turkey. I cried on the turkey's corpse, and he stopped attacking me, and left. I like it when people get what I am doing. Got my turkey 5 minutes after that : WOO! Spawn time in Valgarde is indeed still quick enough to simply run in a circle fighting the spawns that appear there. Took me exactly 10 battles to land a rare. This was also the last common pet I had in my collection.

Now to upgrade those or so uncommon ones I am die hard Horde, but I have a lvl 47 Worgen that I made for fun one time so I took the boat to Valgard and found that there are about 5 spawn spots for the turkeys you can battle even though there are bunch around.

Went through about 5 or 6 battles before I got a rare. I am feeling ever so cheeky! There was only one spawn that I could see wandering around inside Valgarde, I snuck in and hid in the graveyard by the wall and when it got close enough I engaged it and it was a rare! I was concerned that pvp players can hit you when you are taming but wasn't sure about the guards.

Happy to report a troop rode by on horseback while I was taming and nothing happened. Waited til they left before final kill. Although these guys do spawn in small numbers in the alliance towns Valgarde and Westguard Keep, it was much quicker getting a rare one by finding it as a secondary. For me atleast. Happy [pet] hunting! Near the explorer league mounts.

I got my Uncommon this way. Finally found a rare as a second to a worg pup after months of killing everthing in Howling fjord. Was to the point I thought I was going to have to waste one of my Flying stones on the uncommon I had already. Tried the turkeys in Vanguard with nothing but Poors and commons comming up.

So glad this one is done now all that's left to farm as a rare is Artic Fox Kit bring on the snow!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Finally gave up trying to get it as a secondary pet after I found rares of every other pet in the zone and still didn't have this one. So far I've spent over 4 hours fighting them in westfall keep and valguard with no luck. What a pain it is as horde! Multiple attempts to enter battle without getting in combat, then when you finish you're in combat with the level 90 guards. Plus the alliance players that kill or battle the pet when they see what you're doing.

Highly frustrating. I just spent the past two hours trying to catch my turkey. I battled worg pups and hoped for a secondary none : i went to valguard as suggested and spent about another thirty minutes trying to get out of combat to engage this turkey. My heart jumped for joy when it was rare!

Seriously not very fair on horde really I mean: allyas can enjoy safety as they try all the turkeys they can get till they find a rare and hordes need to kill worg pups in hope you might get a secondary turkey and hope will be a rare one Go to Valgarde and hover above town.

Target the Turkey. Keybind the "Interact with Target" Key to something on your keyboard and divebomb in hitting that button repeatedly until you land.

I just did it and got a poor and a rare turkey with a rat in third. Although im horde i chose to go to valgarde, guards can agro but if you are careful you will be fine. You've collected 0 pets. You don't have to try to fly into Alli towns to try to get one, just fight pups until one shows up. Comment by kcartwright As mentioned in other comments, the greatest concentration of these turkeys is located in Valgarde, an Alliance area, and the most efficient method for farming these is to make an Alliance alt if you are Horde.

I hopped over to my Alliance alt after meeting the wrath of the guards several times before giving up. Only two turkeys there were able to be battled, but the place was just covered with turkey critters! As an experiment and release of frustration, I began to slay the plain "critter" turkeys.

It did not take long to realize that every turkey spawn has a chance of creating either a critter or a battle pet. The chances that it will spawn a critter is higher than a battle pet, but these little guys spawn rather quickly. The method to the madness of the search for your rare turkey is to lay waste to the critters while you make your rounds in Valgarde. You will usually get two battle pets out of all of the spawns during each killing spree, but your mileage may vary as this is up to the RNG to decide.

Good luck and happy hunting! Comment by pmakaro Higher horde characters can also use stealth mechanics to get to some of these sitting in alliance bases. Rogues, druids, and hunters can use stealth, prowl, and camo to get around. This is an easy alternative for Horde characters without alliance alts. Comment by Found 2 at Valgarde quite easy to get as alliance. Comment by Alfa I entered a pet battle duel and my opponent had three of these guys, all 25 rare quality.

All he kept doing was using Food Coma and swapping out for his other turkey and repeat until, A: It misses so you can get a shot in or B: you forfeit. I only got a few shots in on all 3, took too long so then I forfeit.

I came back into the duel with a pet that has a 'This ability will always go first. Comment by stickshift While you might find it amusing that Blizz thinks turkeys can fly it doesn't hold a candle to this classic moment in television history. Thank you WKRP! I was able to drop in from flight to a relatively empty area, battle and collect my Turkey poor, but obviously upgrade-able or repeatable , remount and fly off Happy Hunting!

For shared ones get at least one of a kind. Comment by MeanMaggie Valgarde always seems to have 2 Turkeys spawned as primary at a time. Finding a Rare is a real challenge, though, as I've been at it 2 days now. Westgard also has Turkeys as primaries, but there are more Chickens than Turkeys. Also have a decent chance on getting a Devouring Maggot there as a secondary pet.

Update: After 2 days, still no rare Turkey. So I switched realms and flew my 90 to Valgarde. First pet battle -- rare. If you are having trouble catching that rare pet, you might want to try another realm.

Comment by I also found this as a secondary to a Shore Crab on Kamagua. Comment by squeakypizza Um, the turkeys will put your pets to sleep and kick your butt. Don't underestimate them and bring some pets with good endurance!

I found them to be a very common secondary, and got my blue in less than an hour. Not saying you will get yours that quickly, because the pet gods hate all of us less equally some days, but you might have a luckier chance there. Turkey from the Howling Fjord. At the Southern Alliance camp are some. Comment by Valspali I tried both places and succeeded, after some frustrations, in Valgarde.
